(chemotactic receptor
   antagonists)

Status:
Inflammatory diseases : Research

ICOS' research in the area of inflammation led to the discovery of several novel chemokines and chemokine receptors. Chemokines are immunoregulatory proteins with chemotactic activity. They form part of a larger family of chemoattractant factors that selectively regulate the trafficking of immune cells to sites of inflammation. It is hypothesized that chemoattractant receptor antagonists may be efficacious in the treatment of specific immune dysfunction without the side-effects seen with current immunosuppressive therapies.
